We're Covering Reno County

It’s a service most people rarely think about until times of urgent need. When crisis strikes and uncertainty pervades, one thing is sure; we’ll deliver the care you need when you need it most.

A Type 1 Provider, Hutchinson Regional affords the community a highly qualified EMS team equipped with advanced life support capabilities when seconds count. The team is trained to provide pediatric advanced life support, advanced cardiac life support and pre-hospital trauma life support.

Our community receives countless volunteer hours through the team’s presence at local events, board appointments and involvement on various health advisory committees. Many EMS team members also serve on rural volunteer departments throughout the county.

In a coverage area of 1250 miles (3rd largest county in KS), the team relies on volunteer EMS and first responder teams to provide immediate response in rural areas. Volunteer departments are stationed in Pretty Prairie, Haven, Buhler, Nickerson, Sylvia and Turon. Reno County EMS provides volunteer agencies training, supplies, back-up coverage and advanced life support assistance.

Reno County EMS has been hospital based since 1971 and administrated by Hutchinson Regional since 1975 through a contract with Reno County. Implementing a hospital based program primarily centered on providing quality care to patients through seamless transitions from one hospital team to another in the Emergency Room and ICU. Through access to educational resources available at Hutchinson Regional, the EMS team is able to meet continually changing training and education requirements.
